Closed Beta

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Silicentra collects, how it is used within the platform, and how engineer visibility and anonymity work. Silicentra is in closed beta, and this wording is provisional pending legal review.

Provisional closed-beta wording. Final text requires legal review before public launch. Nothing here should be read as a statement of formal compliance with any specific privacy law.

1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to everyone using Silicentra during closed beta: engineers, consultants, recruiters, company members and administrators.

2. Information Silicentra may collect

Depending on how you use the platform, Silicentra may hold:

  • Account information — name, email address and sign-in credentials handled by our authentication provider
  • Engineer professional profile information — headline, summary, career level, availability and visibility settings
  • Employment and education information you add
  • Skills, tools, protocols, technology nodes, foundries, methodologies and other technical attributes
  • Projects and, where you provide them, project descriptions and responsibilities
  • Job applications, including any cover note and compensation expectations you choose to share
  • Recruiter and company information — company profile, locations, verification submissions and team membership
  • Messages exchanged through recruitment conversations tied to a specific role
  • Interview workflow information — rounds, scheduling details, candidate responses and interviewer feedback
  • Notification and activity information needed to show you what changed
  • Technical and security information necessary to operate and protect the service

Silicentra does not ask for payment details, and no subscription or payment features are active during closed beta.

3. Anonymous engineer profiles

Silicentra is designed to reduce unnecessary identity exposure while allowing relevant professional capabilities to be discovered.

When an engineer chooses anonymous visibility, recruiters and companies may still be able to see professional capability information such as:

  • years and level of experience, and career level
  • domains, skills, tools and protocols
  • technology nodes, foundries and verification methodologies
  • chip types, industry verticals and design lifecycle stages
  • other technical attributes relevant to matching

Identifying information that is intended to remain private — such as your name, your employer names and your contact details — is not returned by the recruiter-facing anonymous profile interfaces. Anonymous engineers are referenced by an opaque profile reference rather than by an internal account identifier.

Silicentra does not claim that anonymity is absolute. A sufficiently unusual combination of details you publish yourself — for example a very specific project description — may allow a reader to infer who you are. Share detail at the level you are comfortable with.

Read the anonymous profile help page for a plain-English summary of what recruiters see.

4. Profile visibility options

  • Public — your published profile can be viewed by visitors and appears in the public engineer directory, including your name.
  • Registered — your profile is shown to signed-in Silicentra users rather than to anonymous visitors.
  • Anonymous — your professional capabilities are discoverable, but identifying information is withheld from recruiter-facing interfaces as described above.
  • Hidden — your profile is not surfaced in directories or recruiter search.

You can change your visibility at any time in your engineer profile settings. Changing visibility affects what is shown going forward; it does not retract information a recruiter has already seen or recorded, including in an application or conversation you started.

5. How information is used

  • To operate your profile, applications, conversations and interview workflows
  • To let companies discover relevant candidates according to your visibility settings
  • To send in-app notifications about activity that concerns you
  • To maintain security, investigate misuse and enforce our terms
  • To support you when you contact us

Silicentra does not sell your information.

6. Who can see recruitment information

Recruitment workflows involve sensitive information, which may include employment history, education, professional skills, job applications, recruiter communications, interview records, compensation expectations where you provide them, and private recruiter or interviewer notes.

Access is scoped by role and by context. A company can see applications made to its own roles and candidates it has contacted. Internal recruiter notes and interviewer feedback are not shown to candidates. Conversations are tied to a specific role and are visible to the participants and the relevant company team.

7. Service providers

Silicentra runs on third-party infrastructure for hosting, database storage, authentication and email delivery. Those providers process information on our behalf so the service can operate.

8. Security

Silicentra uses technical and access-control measures intended to protect account and recruitment information. No online service can be guaranteed to be free from risk, and we do not publish detailed security architecture. If you believe an account or data issue exists, contact us so we can investigate.

9. Data retention

Silicentra may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain security, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Fixed retention periods have not been set during closed beta.

Final retention wording requires legal review.

10. Your choices and requests

You can edit most profile information yourself at any time. You can also:

  • change your profile visibility, including hiding your profile
  • withdraw an application you submitted
  • submit a privacy or account request — deletion, correction, or a question about stored information — from Privacy & data requests when signed in

During closed beta, deletion and correction requests are handled manually by our team so that recruitment records are not removed in a way that breaks another party's active process.

11. Children

Silicentra is intended for working professionals and is not directed at children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product develops. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
